Welcome To the Moms' Retreat

Our purpose is to provide a inspiring environment for mothers

Welcome to the 7th annual Moms' Retreat. The Moms' Retreat is an overnight, mountain retreat created to support LDS, TJEd homeschooling mothers in fulfilling their God-given mission. Please read further to familiarize yourself with this incredible event, and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Melanie Ballard, Founder & Director

We extend a heart-felt thank you to Coni Sue Cutler and Wendi Jackson who have served the past several years as Co-Chairs. They are concentrating more on their family endeavors right now, and though we will greatly miss them, we support their decision and wish them well!

LDS Foundation

Each year the Retreat emphasizes understanding and fulfilling our personal missions. This requires a deep faith in God and His personal involvement in our lives.

We are now catering our event for members of the *Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS). Just as we welcome mothers who aren't homeschoolers, we welcome mothers who aren't LDS. But all should understand that the LDS doctrines and TJEd principles are the basis of our content.

The strength of each of our personal convictions is what makes the Retreat powerful. We encourage the speakers and participants to express their beliefs openly and passionately. While there may be differences in the details or application, we hope that we may be unified by our love of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and our testimony of His restored gospel.

We acknowledge each attendee’s right to accept or reject lectures or presentations on the basis of their own ability to identify and receive truth.

*This retreat is not sanctioned or endorsed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Prepare to be Inspired

Inspiration is heightened with preparation.

The Moms' Retreat can provide an inspiring environment, but each of you must open the door to revelation. Writing is a powerful tool to open that door.

As part of your registration process you will have the opportunity to submit a "paper" on this year's theme:

Receiving Revelation
Illumination for the Soul

The purpose of this "paper" is to help you open your mind and heart to this year's theme; to become passionate about it; to make it more of a focus in your life. Your writing will not determine your ability to get in, but it will be read by your Cabin Mothers or other Moms' Retreat leaders to help us deliver a better experience for you.

Ideas for writing your paper may include:
* Start with prayer--ask for thoughts and ideas to be brought to mind.
* Write a free-flow of thoughts and feelings for 30 min or more.
* Identify 2 or 3 thoughts or points that you feel the most passion about.
* Polish these ideas.
* End with a prayer of gratitude.

This writing assignment is not meant to be overly time consuming. As mentioned above, writing is a powerful way to open the doors of revelation. Even though your words will be read, you will gain more from this experience if you write for yourself and for God rather than for an audience.

Weekly Writing Opportunities Leading up the Retreat.

The writing you submit with your registration will not be your only opportunity to write. Starting in June, there will also be 12 weekly writing opportunities leading up to the Retreat. They are not designed to be laborious or time consuming, but they will have a large influence on your experience at the retreat. You will be rewarded for any effort, but great effort will bring about miracles.

Registration

Registration will open May 2012.

May I Bring My Baby?

This year's Moms' Retreat does not accommodate babies of any age.

If you have a baby that you cannot leave in another's care, we hope to see you next year. We applaud you for being a dedicated mother and are sure you will be blessed for your love and sacrifice.

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your registration to the Moms Retreat up to two weeks before the Retreat (Aug 10th) for a full refund.

After August 10th there will be NO REFUND.

Moms' Retreat registrations are non-transferable. If you find that you are not able to make the Retreat, please notify us, as soon as you can, so that we can give the spot to the next anxiously awaiting woman on our waiting list.
